A wide angle view looking up at the Transamerica building in San Francisco. The Transamerica Pyramid is the tallest and most recognizable skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline. It has a unique shape, and was built under the "Buiding Codes" to be earthquake safe. Although it no longer houses the headquarters of the Transamerica Corporation, it is still strongly associated with the company. designed by architect William Pereira, construction began in 1969, and was completed in 1972.
